Furniture Retail
Homemakers Furniture runs Infios WMS with E2. The average customer pick-up fell from 10 minutes to a record 6 minutes 25 seconds, and misloads have virtually been eliminated.
All in all it has been a great pleasure to work with the E2 team… They have shown dedication and sincere commitment to helping us run our business and I don’t think we would be where we are today without that.Doug Klosterman, Warehouse Manager, Homemakers
Homemakers Furniture is a family-operated furniture, mattress and home accessories retailer in Urbandale, Iowa, serving customers since 1974. Roughly half of its business is customer pick-up, so every minute at the dock is a customer waiting in the lot.
Homemakers wanted shorter waits, fewer misloads, better inventory visibility and a warehouse management system it could keep adapting as the operation changed.
E2 implemented Infios WMS for Homemakers and has kept building on it since. At the dock, customers verify their order with Sign-On-Glass, a customer verification application within Infios, and added scans in the loading process confirm the right pieces go in the right vehicle.
Communicated requirements clearly and prepared the Homemakers team for each phase of the implementation.
Designed the custom processes behind Homemakers’ day-to-day operation.
Configured Infios WMS around Homemakers’ workflows and operating goals.
Supported the team during and outside business hours, keeping disruption to a minimum through the transition.
“There are numerous customizations we have requested from E2 Solutions to the Infios WMS… that have increased our productivity as well as our accuracy. We are also constantly changing and striving to improve our operations and, with E2 helping us, we continue to talk through ideas and put them into production.”

“Infios WMS has reduced the wait-time for our customer pick-ups from 10 minutes on average to an all-time record of 6 minutes and 25 seconds on average. That is the time from when a customer arrives to pickup their order to when they are driving away with their purchase loaded to their vehicle. Industry standard is an average of 15 minutes. We’re proud to report that since the introduction of Infios we have cut our customer wait-time to less than half that of our competitors.”
Doug Klosterman, Warehouse Manager, Homemakers“The accuracy in our customer pick-ups area, which accounts for roughly 50% of our business, has been greatly improved. With the addition of using Sign-On-Glass, a customer verification application within Infios, and some added scans to our loading process, misloads have virtually been eliminated.”
Doug Klosterman, Warehouse Manager, Homemakers“Our inventory accuracy is the best it has ever been. We have roughly 80,000 to 100,000 pieces of furniture at any given time and, at last check, we only had 14 that were considered LOST.”
Doug Klosterman, Warehouse Manager, Homemakers“When in need of support, E2 has stepped up so we can get major issues resolved in a timely manner.”
